I particularly like the theoretical explanation mixed with superb, doable activities/exercises and copyable handouts.A very useful A 4 book for people working with children and young people with social/emotional problems. This manual contains a series of structured easy-to-do picture exercises which help people of all ages express, communicate and deal more effectively with their emotions. Dr Margot Sunderland is Director of Education and Training at The Centre for Child Mental Health London, Co-Director Trauma Informed Schools UK, Founding Director, Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (academic partner of University of East London), and Child and Adult Psychotherapist with over thirty years experience. However it became clear from the introduction that this book uses emotions cards which are mentioned in the descripton but nowhere to be seen.

I absolutely support the need for updated editions of these superb books and think the cards to be incredibly helpful in supporting children to tell their stories and process trauma.

I am a student and this is an investment but I am disappointed as I cannot start using the book stray away and this may double the cost.
