About this deal

There is a foreground of deciduous trees just forward of your viewing point on the mountain and a truly gargantuan natural arch curving from the mountain to the valley below where the procession of druids from the front cover continues. Ethan Larsh, an artist known for his exploration of various genres and musical mediums, consistently demonstrates his ability to craft authentic and sometimes deeply personal lyrics. I have enjoyed this band since the 70's and would say that this is certainly one of their best albums (. Related Artists - Alan Davey, Barney Bubbles, Big Amongst Sheep, Dave Brock, Dharma Blues, Harvey Bainbridge, High Tide, Huw Lloyd-Langton, Inner City Unit, Magic Muscle, Michael Moorcock, Nik Turner, Opal Butterfly, Pinkwind, Psychedelic Warriors, Robert Calvert, Simon House, Space Ritual, Steve Swindells, The Compromise, The Imperial Pompadours, The Maximum Effect. Few picks from their "Space Ritual" double live album, and Lemmy's proto-MOTÖRHEAD song from "The Hall of The Mountain Grill".

There's not a great deal I can add, Hawkwind have a very eccentric almost impenetrable sound, to sit here and explain it would definitely be a fruitless exercise. Hawkwind were progressing from being a 'space rock' group looking to the future to actually sounding (with their new lp) like a band that intended to be part of it . From its oddly iconic artwork to the fact that there's just half a dozen tracks to it, Masters of the Universe has a whiff of authenticity about it. Lemmy's influence on the bass line is unmistakable and truly awesome, the diversity between Brainstorm, the title track and Lost Johnny will leave you a little bewildered at first but stick with it, if you don't like this album at the first listening you will find that it will grow on you eventually. He cites his influences for the band at the time as The Moody Blues, Steve Miller Band and the krautrock scene of Kraftwerk, Neu!

Escapando del Maestro (El Adoctrinador)” is a track that exemplifies the fusion of synth-inspired sounds with . While Masters of the Universe's blend of studio and live material may initially seem a bit odd to the newcomer to Hawkwind, the two live cuts are probably the band's most beloved material outside of the standalone single "Silver Machine" (not on this compilation, but present on the aforementioned Roadhawks), and both "Sonic Attack" and "Orgone Accumulator" are mixed in such a way that any audience noise is kept to a minimum, to allow for an oddly seamless listening experience. This would be at the top of my list to recommend to someone that wants to listen to Hawkwind for the first time.

I'm going to be completely honest, there are a lot of progressive rock bands from the 70's I would rather listen to over Hawkwind, but every now and then I get that itch where I'm in the mood for something really progressive, weird and different. This track presents a lovely take on the well-known song, infusing it with a mellow jazz vibe that showcases Graulund’s musical talent.

Though controversial, this is hardly new, indeed big names from Chuck Berry to George Harrison have been accused of ripping off, plagiarizing, stealing and failing to credit others for their contributions for all manner of reasons. The track’s simplicity and easygoing atmosphere make it an enjoyable addition to the indie music scene. and his death-like minion on the lofty escarpment, the mountains being leeched of colour and clarity as they recede into the far beyond. Irrespective of the source, all of our collectables meet our strict grading and are 100% guaranteed. Fissinger’s musical approach is refreshingly uncomplicated, allowing the beauty of the song’s simplicity to shine through.
