About this deal

In the 1980s, there was a departure from the fox’s head theme to a side-on view of a running fox and the crops were discarded.

Following promotion, Leicester established themselves in the Premier League with four successive top ten finishes. Those consecutive victories came against Watford, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Sunderland. Former boss Nigel Pearson was credited by pundits and fans as having laid the foundations for Leicester's title winning season.

The fastest goal in the club's history was scored by Matty Fryatt, when he netted after just nine seconds against Preston North End in April 2006. Perhaps this was the most crucial sign distinguishing the emblem from other versions of the club’s logos. Wouldn't be completely against something like this, but fox is the wrong colour and not enough detail on the eyes. It’s now a successful Premier League participant, gaining fame in recent years due to a series of victories. The club's traditional home colours of royal blue shirts, white shorts and either white or blue socks have been used for the team's kits throughout most of its history.

All “Leicester City” logos feature a fox – the symbol of Leicestershire County and the city of Leicester. During the 2008–09 season, they played in League One, the third tier of English football, after the club's relegation from the Championship in the previous season.

That's just to do with when I grew up probably, but the only quibble I had with the title win was that the - to my eyes - rather bland modern incarnation was the one that found fame around the world. An image of a fox was first incorporated into the club crest in 1948, as Leicestershire is known for foxes and fox hunting.
