About this deal

It's no coincidence that I have this association and that it's akin to Oud Ispahan, or 'Isfahan' once the capital city of Persia. Absolute must-have cheapie if you like Encre Noir, campfires, and sharp citrus all playing together. The first time i spray(day 1) i don't like it, because the opening is too sharp to my nose and 6 hours later it become sour. Day 2 to 5 i kind of "force" my self to wear it everyday until my nose finally tolerate and accept it as it develop to a beautiful rose (oud-ish?) scent. The only con is the longevity. My body temperature is low, but the scent goes away in five hours. Velvet Rose & Oud lasts a couple of days, but, well, the price is nearly ten times more expensive than this one. I know many fragrances more expensive than this but last just a few hours. What can I say? Sweeter heavy rose and recognizable oudish note, quite potent and very longlasting on my skin. After several hours it gets smoother, woodier and very pleasant. For the price it is a must have 8/10.

Longevity: 10/10 1-3 hours of projection - can easily smell from miles away. I smell mostly caramel & rose, then between 3 to 5-hour mark people standing close to you can still smell it. Then 6 - 8th hour, its skin scent. By this point, it's musky amber but still good hints of rose. If you use it daily, it will never leave your clothes no matter how many times you wash them. I really wanted to get all the "Touch" series because of it's low cost and good reputation. The Oud is way way stronger than this, by the way, but I guess not something I'm that interested in. This didn't blow me away and the fact the cap sits loose on it is kind-of the deal breaker. Everyone needs to consider this when trying out Oud as it’s very accessible and the best Oud fragrance at the price point - Yes I am including those cheap Middle Eastern ones.I buy it today. in my point of view it is very similar to terre dhermes but there are alittle diffrences between these two. Fast forward to today. I put just three sprays on and I really love this, it’s up there with Acqua di Palma Oud, Tom Ford’s Tobacco Oud and Penhaligon’s Halfeti. A dark, aromatic oud countered with an uplifting, light incense note. The raspberry is of the synthetic type but it's very faint. Actually, this way it accompanies the florals quite well. If you're familiar with it you'll know what I mean when you smell it.

Right off the bat you get sweet fruit, then rose and oud, then oud and incense. Other notes might be detected throughout the day (yes, it lasts that long), but are not as pronounced as the rose and oud! Negative: Definitely not an "easy" scent; will probably turn some people away due to being SO heavy in the opening. Not versatile, and will probably not play well in a work setting unless you are VERY light with the sprays. I could not imagine trying to wear this while it's warm out, either. Careful on the trigger -- it's really punchy in the beginning. But contrary to some other reviewers, I do not find this one to be a perpetual beast -- only a temporary one. Longevity is average, projection/sillage is variable but somewhat above average. Amazing in every way! One of my favorite smells! Every copy of Oud Ispahan I’ve sniffed smells amazingly good and similar, so it must’ve been good but easy to replicate. This is a blend of smells wherein it’s like a cloud of dark incense, plus hints of rose, and some tanginess (which is the “oud” part). This opens up with some pepper and orange. It has a creamy or rosy note in that adds a new dimension that isn't as popular for the genre. The dry down is good too as it mellows and becomes woody. It's smooth.

FRANCK OLIVIER

If you don't like Oud/Rose combination fragrances - DON'T BUY THIS FRAGRANCE. Because that's all this is. Oudy Rose. Stanky, funky, then soft, warm, and inviting. I can't compare to Dior Oud Ispahan, as I've never sampled it, but this is well worth the money and a very good fragrance in it's own right. I would use conservatively as its a projects and performs very well from a few sprays. Man, this is something else. Just have worn it on a warm summer day and it definitely is not a warm-weather fragrance for me, but maybe with minimal application, it may work. Fruitier facets from raspberry are there to further drive home the thought of "mmm!" after the initial blast.
