About this deal

The Tamiya Extra Thin Cement 40ml is widely reknowned throughout the world as the best product to glue together plastic model kits that use polystyrene plastic. The extra thin formula allows the modeller to glue together small pieces that require pin point accuracy and finesse using the fine brush included. Tamiya offer a great range of paints, glues and modelling accessories that are available both online and in store.

I had a roll of "blue painters tape" that I got in the dollar store on my bench. The tape has a rough texture on it, so it has some "grip". So I cut a small piece and wrapped it around the glue bottle cap....I have never seen (or heard of) a Tamiya extra thin cement that did not work as advertised. I am wondering if this "Limonene" cement has some ingredient that is affecting it's bonding properties somehow. It does have a nice "orange" small to it (I assume it is non-toxic?).

The aim of this series of entries in your SMN Techniques Bank is to help anyone who wants to know more about the different types of glue out there and what they should, and can, be used for. This is especially aimed at any of you who are returning to scale modelling after a long break or perhaps new to the hobby – there is certainly a bewildering choice of products readily available and this entry covers my suggestions and I hope you find it helpful.
